Welcome to TERRALAC!

The interdisciplinary and international team of the TERRALAC project is studying the effect of terrestrial carbon on the resilience of lakes.
Our model ecosystem:

Field investigations will be carried out in two small lakes (a macrophyte and a phytoplankton-dominated) that will be divided and particulate carbon added.

TERRALAC is funded by the Leibniz-community Pact for Innovation and Research and based at the Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB). It is run by Sabine Hilt from the Department of Shallow Lakes and Lowland Rivers and Thomas Mehner from the Department of Biology and Ecology of Fishes. Cooperation partners are the TU Berlin and the University Potsdam.
